GrepBeat Presents: “Welcome To Triangle Tech” Poster

GrepBeat artist-in-residence Xiomara Colopy poses with the poster she designed celebrating the Triangle tech community.

Here’s something fun for your Friday: This summer, the team at GrepBeat has benefited from having its own in-house artist. Xiomara Colopy (pictured above, and daughter of the GrepBeat Godfather himself) has been busily lending her talents to the team—upping our drink coaster game, helping us revamp images for our feature stories, and even painting a mural at the HQ (which we’ll show you soon!). But she also created our “Welcome To Triangle Tech” poster, which we’re sharing with the community a bit more directly.

This poster celebrates the tech and startup ecosystem around the Triangle region. It showcases tech companies, universities, incubators and accelerators, VC firms, and plenty of recognizable landmarks from around the area. We’ve been enjoying the poster in the office for a few weeks now, particularly given that it seems as if every time you look at it you find a new detail.

We have also had fun sharing this poster with a number of organizations around the Triangle already. As you’ll see in the slideshow below, copies have been delivered in particular to several of the programs and organizations that do so much to support tech innovation in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. It’s safe to say the posters have been well received!

And who knows? This could just be Round 1. You might notice the “Summer 2024” tag under the title…. While I don’t want to make promises on the artist’s behalf, if the landcape changes enough, we may just have to update the poster along with it.

In the meantime, enjoy this slideshow of happy poster recipients (if you’re reading GrepBeat, you’ll probably recognize a few of them). And keep scrolling, as well, for a bit of information on where you can snag a copy of this poster (or even just the image) for yourself.

If you’d like to have a copy of the “Welcome To Triangle Tech” poster, whether for your workplace, home office, or bedroom ceiling, you’re in luck! Visit our Art Store and you’ll find options to buy the 11×17 poster there in various quantities. (You’ll also notice our new GrepBeat sticker—also designed by Xiomara Colopy.)

Meanwhile, if you’d simply like your own digital copy of the image (phone background, perhaps?), you can grab it below.

We hope you enjoy this fun summer project, and if you’re a fan of the poster and want to see more of Xiomara’s art, remember to give her a follow on Instagram.
