1. Using GrepBeat
We built GrepBeat to inform and connect the startup community, and we ask that you use the Services respectfully and lawfully. You may not interfere with the site, attempt to disrupt it, upload malicious software, copy or scrape content without permission, impersonate others, or post unlawful, defamatory, or abusive material. We may remove content or suspend access if these standards are violated. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.
2. Accounts
Some features, such as event registration, may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
3. Payments and Donations
Event tickets and certain other offerings may require payment. Fees are in U.S. dollars and are non-refundable unless stated otherwise. Donations are treated in accordance with nonprofit and applicable tax laws. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method.
4. Our Content
All articles, graphics, logos, and other materials on the Services are owned by GrepBeat or used with permission and are protected by law. You are welcome to share links to our content. Republishing full articles or materials requires written permission unless permitted by law, such as fair use. “GrepBeat” is our trademark.
5. Community Contributions
If you post comments or other content, you retain ownership of what you post, but you grant us permission to display and share it as part of the Services. You represent that your content does not violate anyone else’s rights. We are not responsible for user-posted content and may remove material that violates our standards.
6. Disclaimer
The Services are provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy and reliability, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free content. Your use of the Services is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrepBeat is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. If you bring a claim related to the Services, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us related to the claim or $50.
8. Disputes
We hope to resolve concerns directly and in good faith. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will generally be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court. You waive the right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action. North Carolina law applies, and any permitted court proceedings must take place in Durham County, North Carolina.
9. Updates
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services means you accept the updated Terms.
