Thanks For Supporting GrepBeat During Our Inaugural Giving Week

As you may have heard (we mentioned it once or twice) last week marked GrepBeat’s first official “Giving Week” since becoming a nonprofit. This was an opportunity for us to spread the word about our ongoing mission to lift up NC tech startups and connect the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Even more importantly, it launched a whole new era of direct community support for that mission.

Over the course of Giving Week, we welcomed fresh financial support from across the spectrum of our readership and community.

Donors included leaders from entrepreneurial support organizations, representatives from past GrepBeat sponsors and industry service providers, startup founders and employees, and individual subscribers. We saw one-time gifts ranging from $25 to $1,000, as well as recurring donations (which make one an official GrepBeat Supporter) of $20/month and $200/year.

We of course want to extend our heartfelt thanks go all those who gave and/or helped us spread the word. It’s all appreciated, and it will all go toward good work.

What if you’re sad that Giving Week had to end?

While our official Giving Week is over, we want to stress that support for GrepBeat should be treated like that one neighbor’s artificial Christmas tree that simply never comes down (looking at you, my actual real-life neighbor). That is to say, it’s year-round and always cheerful.

In other words, giving options aren’t going anywhere. At any given moment, you can head to our support page and contribute to our work. You can help us through:

  • One-time gifts in any amount at any time
  • Recurring donations; official GrepBeat Supporters are those contributing $20/month or $200/year (or more), and donors at this level will be eligible for certain tokens of appreciation throughout the year (such as discounts for GrepBeat events).
  • Donating $1,000/year or more to become part of our obviously-prestigious Founder’s Circle

If you’d like to support us but are unable to give financially, please also remember that subscribing to the newsletter (and encouraging others to do the same), sharing our content, and directing ecosystem newcomers to GrepBeat as a resource are all great ways to help us grow.

One last time time to those who have already offered support. We’ll make you proud to be part of what we’re doing.
