LiLa Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary at Zinchouse

30-plus members of LiLa gathered at Zinchouse to celebrate the organization's two-year "LiLaversary."

Last Thursday, LiLa (that’s Ladies Investing / Local Angels) celebrated its two-year “LiLaversary” at Zinchouse Winery & Brewery in Durham.

Since its founding in 2024, this group has worked to build a supportive community of local women with interest in early-stage business investment in North Carolina. They’ve done this through regular gatherings, often with guest speakers and/or presenting startup founders, and always with an aim to educate, empower, and foster lasting community.

In the two years since its launch, LiLa has grown into a community of more than 400 women (and, for what it’s worth, anyone wanting to add themselves to that tally can join up right here). Across 25 events to date, they’ve showcased an impressive spattering of women-led startups, taught members how to evaluate pitchers with an investor’s eye, and, most importantly, provided a consistent means of coming together for mutual support.

They’ve also collaborated with a number of other local organizations, including xElle Ventures, RDSW, Meredith College, Frontier RTP, Robinson Bradshaw, and CED’s Strength in Numbers.

Congratulations to LiLa (and its many Friends-of-GrepBeat (FOG)) on two years of impact. See photos of the event below, courtesy of assorted members:
