Raleigh’s Reslink Reframes Resumes Around Job Seekers’ Personalized Videos

With his co-founders Roxanne Taku and Joanna Rocha, Dominic Giacona is building Reslink to empower job seekers with personalized videos that help tell their stories.

After serving three deployments in the U.S Navy, Dominic Giacona obtained his bachelor’s in Business and Communications from George Mason University. He noted how difficult it was to transition to civilian life—especially given that he was navigating the job market as a former ordnanceman.

“I was spending so much time making sure the bullet points were right and the job description [matches] each opportunity,” he said. “It was not only costing me a ton of time that I didn’t have, it was also like I was getting no return from it.”

Giacona often felt like he was leaving his fate to his resumes themselves. But by contrast, he always did well with video interviews, which made him realize no one could tell his story better than himself.

Soon enough, he found himself in the software solutions space. But in the meantime, his strength with interviews had ignited the idea that he could build a company curating resumes that were more creative and interpersonal than the standard format.

In February 2024, the veteran started building an MVP and gathering feedback. The same year, he met Roxanne Taku and Joanna Rocha, two prominent content creators and the founders of TechTalk. They loved the platform and wanted to share it with their own followers.

That platform was the early version of what would become Reslink, an AI-powered website designed to help job seekers create personalized video resumes for different job opportunities. According to Giacona, it helps candidates stand out amidst the noise of AI resume scanners.

“It’s just really bringing that human element back into hiring. Because you know in today’s world that the human element is getting lost.”

Helping job seekers & recruiters

The Raleigh-based startup soft-launched in February 2025, and its social presence exceeded 1,000 followers after only a few weeks. Those followers represented dual target markets of individual job seekers and medium-sized businesses actively recruiting.

People seeking employment can sign up for free and start their first “Reslink” by creating a title and recording their pitch via webcam. Once satisfied, a user can click “create,” and the video goes live—meaning that it becomes available to be attached to the user’s resume(s) via what is called a “Reslink badge.” This is a clickable icon for hiring managers to view and interact with when the resume is downloaded.

Reslink argues that making these videos available helps a job seeker highlight key skills, stand out from large pools of applicants, build quick connections with recruiters and/or hiring managers, and increase the chance of landing an interview by up to 60%.

An individual job seeker can also enjoy access to information such as who opened their resume or how many times their video pitches have been viewed.

On the other side, a recruiter using Reslink can create a job board, post a job opportunity, and advertise wherever they like. Once opportunities are posted, the platform makes it easy for a recruiter to view specific qualities of candidates they’re considering.

Also ingrained in the user interface is an AI tool dubbed “Reslink Pitch AI,” which generates a script for a user’s position of interest before recording. It leverages the job description and the user’s resume to create a write-up that fits the individual and is tailored to the company in question’s needs.

Giacona called Reslink the first AI-powered video resume website and takes pride in its unique standing in the space.

Building, connecting, raising

Reslink’s team is still implementing layout changes based on user feedback, but the startup has made progress with engagement. As of this writing, Reslink is on track to soon exceed 10,000 users and is helping job seekers and/or recruiters in more than 129 countries.

“When I first started Reslink, it was like on page 17 on Google,” Giacona said. “Now it’s number one. So, a lot of the activity on the site is doing that for us organically.”

In December 2025, the three co-founders showcased the platform at the Canopy Community Demo Night in London—an event filled with other founders and early-stage investors.

With the startup in its pre-seed phase, Giacona plans to take advantage of appropriate funding opportunities and join local accelerator programs. In December of 2025, the three co-founders showcased their platform at the Canopy Community Demo Night in London. This June, the startup will be pitching at Grep-a-Palooza in Durham.

“It’s built to scale, but there’s just a lot on the road map that we’ve been tackling,” Giacona said, “and the development would be so much faster with funding.”

The company aims to close its pre-seed round in August, and their goal is to raise $150,000. Giacona says that as long as they keep their current momentum going, that goal will be in reach.

Notably, there are some new features in the works on the platform—such as the “Reslink Coach AI,” which will watch a user’s video pitches and give constructive feedback. But one of the team’s biggest plans is to begin partnering with universities.

Ultimately, Giacona wants job seekers to understand that their resume is their story and Reslink exists to supplement it.

“We live in a world where what you are seeing is via socials,” he said. To that end, he added, “Reslink gives you control of your first impression.”
