On Thursday night, to help cap off another packed day of Raleigh-Durham Startup Week, GrepBeat joined forces with The Seed List to host a second-ever “College Night” at Boxyard RTP. The event was put on with help from an NC IDEA Engage grant.
This event exists to give college students with interest in entrepreneurism a chance to network with each other—and build connections with the working professionals who comprise and support the Triangle’s startup ecosystem. Specifically, we put the word out to students from Duke, UNC, NC State, Meredith, Elon, NC Central, Campbell, and SKEMA (though all were welcome, and some attendees also hailed from Appalachian State, the North Carolina School of Science and Math, and elsewhere).
College Night is, by design, light on programming. While some brief announcements were made to introduce The Seed List, NC IDEA, and GrepBeat to attendees (and there was also a raffle for special prizes), the point is simply to gather. We provide the space, students show up (in droves, as it turns out), and connections are made.
Thanks to everyone who made it out to Boxyard RTP for this successful second edition of College Night, as well as to The Seed List, NC IDEA, and RDSW for their support. It’s safe to say this won’t be the last time we do it.
If you were in attendance and want to look back on the action, or you missed it and you’d like a sense of what College Night feels like, check out the photos from the event below….
