Rocky Mount Startup Helps Users Invest With (Artificial) Intelligence

Corey Nida is the Founder, CEO, and CTO of RevolutionAI, which is developing a platform to help people invest with more insight and intelligence.

Corey Nida never went to college. Instead, he learned six languages on his own and taught himself the intricacies of artificial intelligence technology along the way. Now, he wants to leverage what he’s taught himself to help other people learn how to make smarter stock trades.

In 2022, Nida founded RevolutionAI, a startup (where he is now CEO and CTO) that aims to “revolutionize the world of artificial intelligence by providing cutting-edge AI solutions.” A couple years in, the company is developing a platform called Sentivest, which is intended to help anyone make smarter financial investments with the help of artificial intelligence.

“Dealing in investments and banking, I noticed that there was a huge gap with old tools that really didn’t help the investor figure out what opportunities were available for them,” Nida said.

He realized that while better tools exist, they often aren’t available to individual investors. Sentivest can bridge this gap, for both experienced and inexperienced investors.

Nida said that with Sentivest, a new user can import their stock portfolio in just a few clicks, taking less than 10 minutes’ time. The platform has connections to more than 3,000 banks and updates with less than a five-millisecond lag from the major stock exchanges. Sentivest’s servers have been built from the ground up and are designed to deal with a vast amount of information moving at a very fast speed.

“When we built the platform, we built it with the amount of data ingestion in mind,” Nida said. “That doesn’t seem like a big thing, until you get in and you can see thousands of stocks that are updating in real time.”

Sentivest also has an AI financial assistant which users can talk to within the platform—privately and securely. Nida said users can ask questions as simple as, “What’s a stock?” or as complex as, “Why did NVIDIA take a dip?” or “What events were correlated with this dip?”

“Most people say [artificial intelligence] is here to kill jobs,” Nida said. “It’s not. It’s here to help. I see it as an opportunity to leverage and open that amount of data to everyone.”

Sentivest’s modern approach

Nida said that the way stocks move today is much different than it was in the past.

“Today, if the company says or does the wrong thing, socially, it can completely affect the price of the stock in two seconds,” Nida said.

Nida intends to set Sentivest apart from the competition by including real-time news updates relevant to a user’s stock of interest. If a company is under fire for a social media post, for example, a user could see that information on the Sentivest platform. Additionally, the user can see what congresspeople are trading an individual stock.

“It also does 16 languages,” Nida said, speaking to the accessibility of the platform on top of its ability to package information for users. “We want to not only break the barrier on financial education; it’s going to also allow for multilingual barriers to be crossed.”

By 2027, the startup also hopes to integrate “social investing” features. Nida envisions a system where traders can see and learn from the wins and losses of other users.

“I think it’s almost required with today’s interconnectivity,” Nida said. “We’re wanting to be everywhere everyone else is at, and that’s kind of our focus.”
