Friday Nooner: Rachel Cash Joins The Show To Tells Us About Elroi (and Barbecue)

On today’s edition of the Friday Nooner, co-hosts Melissa Crosby and Jenn Summe took the reins, with the GrepBeat Godfather out for the day. It being November 1st, Melissa and Jenn naturally started off recapping their Halloween experiences. Melissa racked up an impressive 13,000 steps Trick-or-Treating while Jenn celebrated her victory in the GrepBeat HQ pumpkin-painting competition (courtesy of her Mike Wachowski mini-pumpkin).

I popped in with the weekly update on all things GrepBeat.com, featuring the latest editions of the Monday Mix and In The Soup, our latest Book Club recap, and feature stories on startups Golgi-CONNECT, Check What’s Good (a Wilmington startup), and Atlas.

Then we got to the heart of the episode as Melissa and Jenn welcomed Rachel Cash, who is the Founder and CEO of Elroi. Rachel describes Elroi as a data marketplace where consumers can sell their data to companies. Throughout the interview she expands on what this means in practice and what inspired her to start Elroi. There’s also some impromptu barbecue banter I suspect some viewers will have opinions on.

*Fun Game: See if you can pinpoint the moment when Jenn maintains her composure while I come upstairs and spill a vat of iced coffee right in her sightline.
