Friday Nooner: Mark Littlewood On All Things Business of Software

On today’s Friday Nooner, hosts Joe Colopy (aka the GrepBeat Godfather) and Melissa Crosby opened things up with some discussion about a few miscellaneous goings-on around the Triangle. These included the rebranding of PNC Arena (to the Lenovo Center) and plans for a massive complex around said Arena Center. They also touched on a yoga studio sliding into some former Bronto space at the Tobacco Campus here in Durham. (Joe seemed to have some thoughts.)

I (your friendly neighborhood editor) popped in with a brief update on all things GrepBeat, and some special focus on Thursday night’s Startups to Watch event. Naturally this was a resounding success, and we encourage you to check out our recap to get a look at our 10 honorees for 2024!

Once all that was done, Joe and Melissa got to the heart of the episode and welcomed in Mark Littlewood, the Founder and CEO of the Business of Software (BoS) Conference. Said conference will be taking place next week from Monday through Wednesday (September 23-25) at the Martin Marietta Center in downtown Raleigh (marking its second year running in the City of Oaks). Mark talked about the history of BoS, how and why it found its way to Raleigh, and what people should expect from the conference.

Mark was also generous enough to provide a discount code for our readers/audience. You can use this link to explore the conference and register, and enjoy a $100 discount on the current ticket price using code bosusa24Grep. You can also read through our own preview to learn more about the event.
