Friday Nooner: We Say Good-Bye To Jackie, Hello To CareYaya’s Neal Shah

Today’s episode was bittersweet because we said goodbye to Jackie Sizing, aka “Jackie from GrepBeat,” on her last day at GrepBeat. Though we still hope to see her around the Triangle in her new role as a writer for abc11.com.

We also said hello to our guest Neal Shah, the Founder and CEO of Raleigh-based startup CareYaya, which provides affordable in-home elder care in part by tapping into an underutilized labor force: undergrad and grad students in the health professions. We first profiled CareYaya in February, 2022, and they have now expanded into 10 markets including the Triangle. Shah has much bigger plans for the startup, which is disrupting the large and growing industry of in-home care.
