About our Panelists:
Tim McLoughlin, Partner at Cofounders Capital: Cofounders Capital is an early-stage seed fund focused on software ventures in the Triangle. Created in 2015, Cofounders partnered with the Town of Cary to provide free lab space to entrepreneurs who receive expert help modeling and vetting their startup ideas. We help with prototyping, vetting, and lining up beta customers.
Jackie Bennett, Senior Associate at SJF Ventures: We are experienced venture capital investors who have been at the forefront of impact investing since 1999. We are passionate about generating extraordinary results, creating positive changes, and partnering with visionaries who combine these two. Our team has invested in over 50 ventures, bringing time-tested perspective and expertise to partnerships with entrepreneurs. We are ready and eager to build something special together. SJF Ventures has offices in Durham, New York, San Francisco and Seattle. Through its investment funds, the firm provides equity financings from $1MM to $10MM, solo or in syndicates, to companies seeking growth capital.
Ursula Mead, Founder and CEO at InHerSight: At InHerSight, our mission is to improve the workplace for women by measuring it. With company reviews designed to reflect what women want to know about employers, we’re helping women find the companies and jobs where they will thrive, and we’re helping employers create female-friendly cultures that promote a happy, gender diverse workforce.
Bridget Harrington, Executive Director, Innovate Raleigh: Innovate Raleigh is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization committed to making our region the top center for innovation and entrepreneurship in the nation. We support a strong and vibrant community by bringing together key stakeholders within our ecosystem—entrepreneurs, investors and supporting organizations. Our main focus is to connect entrepreneurs to three core elements to fuel their growth—funding, talent and opportunities. Our organization approaches its mission with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, fostering entrepreneurship within our under-served communities while connecting to the broader entrepreneurial communities in neighboring cities.
About our Sponsors:
Marlana Bunn at TriNet: TriNet provides extraordinary HR expertise tailored to thousands of small and medium size businesses (SMBs) throughout a wide range of industries across the U.S. By giving these businesses access to advanced payroll services, premium-level benefits, and risk mitigation & compliance consulting—all delivered through personalized service and a comprehensive technology platform—we free them from the complexities of HR to focus on what matters most: their incredible people.
Jake Shepherd at VACO: Vaco provides expert consulting, permanent placement, executive search and strategic staffing for companies around the world, in the areas of accounting, finance, technology, healthcare, operations, administration and more. As a premier talent solutions firm, Vaco connects people to their dream jobs and helps leading companies find talent to grow their business.
Wes Pollard and Wade Ficken at TechCXO: TechCXO provides companies with on demand executives. TechCXO was founded on the premise that high potential companies can greatly benefit from proven, interim executives who they otherwise may not be able to access due to cost, availability or because they do not necessarily need them full time. Our purpose is to provide the best executive talent available… on demand.
WeWork: WeWork is the platform for creators, providing hundreds of thousands of members around the world with space, community, and services that enable them to do what they love and create their life’s work. Our mission is to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living, and our own team members are central to that goal.
This is a ruthlessly curated list of special events that are—in our fallible yet final opinion—particularly relevant to the Triangle’s tech startup community. Submit an event here for our consideration. No promises!
